Behind closed doors, animals are being burnt, blinded, mutilated, poisoned and given cancer in an industry shrouded in secrecy, protected by governments, and the propaganda of a multi-billion pound industry.
Please help us shine a light on their suffering and educate others that animal experiments are unreliable, unnecessary, and unethical.
National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS)
- We investigate & expose
- We support research without animals
- We produce scientific reports
- We campaign for change
The National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS), founded in 1875, is the world’s first organisation campaigning against animal experiments. Campaigning and lobbying for over 140 years, the NAVS now works alongside Animal Defenders International (ADI) and the Lord Dowding Fund for humane research (LDF) to push for an end to animal suffering in laboratories.
The NAVS works to protect and help animals in need. For example, we have rescued and rehomed laboratory monkeys and dogs, have produced scientific reports and educational materials, and lobbied politically to achieve lasting change. We also produce the NAVS Good Charities Guide to inform the public which not-for-profit organisations are engaged in animal testing and which are not.
The NAVS has led several high-profile campaigns on issues such as medical research on primates and the use of lab animals in cosmetics testing, involving drafting legislation, preparing briefings and meeting key decision makers in order to influence legislation to protect animals.
We urgently need your help to continue protecting and campaigning on behalf of animals. Please give whatever you can.
